Dental implant cosmetically replaces a missing tooth

Implant crown replaces tooth 8

Before

After

There are several options to replace a missing tooth. These include a bridge, an implant, or a partial denture. If possible, an implant is ideal because it preserves the bone, functions like a normal tooth, and you don't have to drill on adjacent teeth. When this patient broke an old tooth off at the gumline, he was very self conscious. He was also anxious at the dentist office due to previous bad experiences. Using Nitrous Oxide sedation, we were able to keep him comfortable while extracting the remainder of the broken tooth, and placed a dental implant. We then fabricated a porcelain veneer on the small tooth next to it, and did an implant supported porcelain crown to give him a natural looking smile that restores his original function, and preserves his bone.
