About Smile Makeovers
A smile makeover is a combination of cosmetic dental procedures to improve the overall shape and aesthetic of the gums and teeth for a vibrant smile. With various restorative dental techniques and modern technology, teeth that are cracked, chipped, misaligned, or discolored can be repaired. This procedure can also replace metal fillings with tooth-colored fillings for a more natural feel and appearance. At Emigh Dental Care in Long Beach, CA, our dentists do all they can to show patients what their potential results will amount to with advanced 3D imaging software and past patient photos. A smile makeover will be different for everyone but may include:
- dental implants
- full or partial dentures
- crowns and bridges
- porcelain veneers
- tooth-colored fillings and onlays
- orthodontic treatment
- teeth whitening treatment
Drug and alcohol abuse can be devastating to the teeth and gums, resulting in pain, broken teeth, poor appearance, and a lack of self-confidence. When we can help get patients out of pain or any emergency needs right away, it lets them focus on their rehab treatment. We can then help do the minor treatments, stabilize their oral health, and help make their smile look better so they have that added self-esteem which is often times so important in helping overcome addiction.
At Emigh Dental Care in Long Beach, CA, we know the importance of working and communicating with rehab centers about what we can and cannot give patients that are undergoing or have undergone rehab.
We take pride in helping people feel better about themselves and improving their lives through a non-judgemental and supportive approach.

"I cannot say enough GREAT things about Dr. Pat and the staff at Emigh Dental. I’ve had bad experiences in the past where dentists are not very personable and/or shame you for what you haven’t done or what you need to do. You won’t get that here. They explain everything and it’s your call in the end. I’ve needed an implant for a few years but was too scared and wanted to hang on to my loose tooth (?!) as long as I could. I finally had to face up to the procedure and started the process today. Dr. Pat extracted two teeth (my other one was loose as well), inserted the post, gave me my “flipper” and I was on my way until my follow up appointment. But...not until I cried in the chair after… More"- K.Q. / Facebook / Jan 29, 2021
"I would like to thanks all doctors, nurses, and workers in this dental office for the great care they are doing. They are all marvelous people. I remember when I came here eight years ago to get my teeth fixed. Since then, when I go to any dental office, they get amazed and ask me where and who did the arranging on my teeth. I am planning to arrange an appointment with them when I come back to visit the state again for a check-up. Syhan, Thanks!"- A.A. / Google / Sep 03, 2020

What to Expect
During the initial exam, our dentists will explain the recommended procedures for the smile makeover. Using digital imaging, our dentists will show their patients the potential impact of the procedures to help them determine each smile makeover treatment plan. Once the patient and our dental team have decided on the ideal smile makeover plan, patients can schedule their appointment(s) for the procedures.
Our dentists will give their patients aftercare instructions based on the procedure or procedures being performed. In general, it is important that patients follow a good home oral health care regimen, including brushing, flossing, and mouthwash to maintain the results of their smile makeover. Additionally, patients should continue to come to our practice twice a year, or as recommended by our dentists, for regular dental exams and cleaning. Proactive dental care will help their smile remain healthy, strong, and beautiful.
